Here’s what people are saying about Ed:
Ed is a strong leader focused on process and team mobility through multiple parallel projects. With his technical knowledge he bridges the gap between engineering and product requirements which enables him to be a constant contributor through all aspects of the SDLC and product roadmap. He has the ability to balance multiple projects at a high level and has gained the respect of his teams by leading by example.
– Kevin Susko – Engineering Manager – UPMC Enterprises
I have enjoyed working with Ed for over five years in a technical capacity, where he was doing everything from software development to project management to team leadership and mentoring. Everything he approaches he does so very methodically with clear goals in mind. He can concentrate on the details while never losing sight of the larger goals that need to be accomplished. He always puts forth great ideas to improve a project, a development process and the operation of a team. His organizational and leadership skills always kept teams on track and on schedule. Plus, he’s just a great guy to work with and I hope I get to do so again.
– Sean McCune – Technical Lead / Senior Software Engineer – UPMC Enterprises
I worked with Ed at UPMC Enterprises and had the privilege of being on his team/project during almost the entire duration of my employment at UPMCE. When I first started working at UPMCE, he was my QA mentor and introduced me to Cucumber/Ruby automation. Ed was not only mentoring me, but also many other QAs across the department. His advanced technical skills combined with his natural ability to lead and mentor made him one of the best QA Leads in the company, and someone that many looked up to for help with automation and best practices. His knowledge and experience with Cucumber led to him being asked to give presentations within the company and also outside at Pittsburgh QA Community events. Ed not only gave me great training on automation, he was also very helpful with pushing me out of my comfort zone and encouraging me to take on leadership opportunities. When I was put on different projects, I would often still reach out to Ed for help with automation questions and QA Lead advice. Ed also showed a great instinct for seeing the big picture of project visions but still was able to get in the trenches and be a big contributor with QA technical work. I also appreciated Ed’s ability to be diplomatic and help resolve disagreements between team members. I would absolutely recommend Ed for any type of QA/Engineering lead role or leadership position.
– Jared Willson – Software Engineer in Test – UPMC Enterprises
I have had pleasure of working with Ed for 6 years between different projects. Ed has put on various hats during his time at UPMCE, but I think his strength is leading the team with clear understanding of project requirements and value and most importantly technical infrastructure. Ed soft skills also help him being excellent leader and is well-respected within the team and company. He is innovative, highly motivated and has gone far and beyond to help team and company deliver. He is well verse technically in latest trends like AWS, Kubernetes, data infrastructure and languages. Ed have several times acted as a bridge between teams for technical coordination and implementing best practices. Ed has mentored several colleagues and has given lunch and learn sessions for several tools and languages. I would not hesitate to recommend Ed for technical leadership role which requires people leadership responsibility.
